Reliving Dylan: A Night with My Back Pages Revue at Milton Theatre. Words & images by Carly Brook Photography
As a South Coast photographer and storyteller, I’m lucky to witness the magic that happens when music, community, and emotion collide. On Saturday night, that magic filled the air at @miltontheatre, where the My Back Pages Revue transported us straight into the soul of the 1960s.
This wasn’t just a concert—it was a time capsule. The Revue brought Bob Dylan’s early years to life with raw energy and reverence, echoing the spirit of A Complete Unknown. From the haunting beauty of Girl From the North Country to the rebellious pulse of Subterranean Homesick Blues, every song felt like a page torn from history.
The stage shimmered with talent: Shane Flew, Johnny G, Nick Meredith, Nick Hoorweg, and Antero Ceschin delivered a masterclass in musical storytelling. Their chemistry was electric, their sound transcendent. We grooved to Maggie’s Farm, swayed to Boots of Spanish Leather, and felt the full force of Like A Rolling Stone—a song that changed rock forever.
As I captured the night through my lens, I was struck by how deeply this music still resonates. It’s timeless, political, poetic—and the performers honoured that legacy with heart and soul.
